5 Best GPS Trackable Travel Wallets for Traveling Abroad

5 travel wallets with gps tracker compatibility spread across a wooden counter

Traveling internationally involves a lot of important documents and materials that you need with you at all times. Your passport, visa documentation, itineraries, cash, IDs, and credit cards are all items you need to keep both safe and accessible while spending time abroad.

Travel wallets can simplify your daily activities and allow you to feel confident that your most important items remain secure. The right wallet can also make all the difference should you lose it. Beyond ensuring the safety of your travel essentials, travel wallets with GPS trackers can make it possible to locate and reunite with your lost items.

Many travel wallets are designed specifically for GPS trackers, or with compartments that securely house a GPS tracker. Besides being helpful organizational tools, these accessories are well-suited to safeguarding essential travel documents and currency while adding an extra layer of security with real-time tracking capabilities.

In today’s world, peace of mind is paramount. As such, the importance of a reliable travel wallet with room for a GPS tracker cannot be overstated.

It starts with choosing the right GPS tracker for your personal technology.

Table of Contents

What are GPS Trackers?

GPS trackers are small devices equipped with Global Positioning System (GPS) technology. GPS trackers use signals from satellites to determine their precise location on Earth. These satellites continuously transmit signals that the tracker receives. By triangulating signals from multiple satellites, the tracker calculates its exact position, allowing you to track the location of an object or person in real time.

GPS trackers for wallets are small and designed to be stored inside a wallet without taking up valuable space. They are typically either the size and shape of a credit card or a large coin. Utilizing a GPS-tracking device can transform your travel wallet into a GPS-trackable wallet—a complete game changer for keeping track of your passport and personal items during international travel.

Top 3 Reasons to Use a GPS Tracker in a Travel Wallet

Using a GPS tracker in your travel wallet offers several benefits—especially when traveling abroad:

  1. Safety and Security: In unfamiliar places, having a GPS tracker in your wallet ensures that you can quickly share your exact location with emergency responders or loved ones during unforeseen situations.

When exploring off-the-beaten-path destinations, a GPS tracker makes it easier to share your location and get help even where cellular coverage is limited.
  2. Locating Your Lost Wallet: If your wallet is lost or stolen, the tracker helps you track it down promptly. This is particularly crucial when traveling abroad, where language barriers and unfamiliar surroundings can complicate recovery efforts.
  3. Geo-Fencing Alerts: Set virtual boundaries (geofences) for your wallet using the GPS tracker. If your travel wallet moves beyond these boundaries, you receive an alert. This feature is essential if you plan on leaving your travel wallet with passports and travel documents at your accommodations.

Factors to Consider When Purchasing a GPS Tracker

Before buying a GPS-trackable travel wallet, you need to start with considering the tracker you plan on using. When purchasing a GPS tracker, consumers should take into account several factors:

1. Compatibility: Ensure the GPS tracker is compatible with your smartphone or device. For instance, the Apple AirTag works seamlessly with Apple devices, but not as intended with Android devices.

2. Battery Life: Check the battery life of the tracker. Some trackers have replaceable batteries or a guaranteed battery life while others may need to be charged regularly.

3. Range: Consider the range of the tracker. Some trackers work well within a short range, while others can track items from miles away. For international travelers, this is particularly important!

4. Size and Design: The size and design of the tracker are important. It should be compact and unobtrusive. You want to find a tracker that fits your travel wallet of choice. The tracker should be able to fit securely in a GPS-tracker-designed holder, snugly in a card slot, or zipped away in a compartment.

5. Privacy and Security: Look into the privacy and security features of the tracker. It’s important that only you can access the location data of your tracker.

6. Price: Compare the tracker’s price with its features and capabilities. Make sure it offers good value for money.

7. Additional Features: Some trackers offer additional features like water resistance, built-in speakers for sound alerts, or the ability to share location data with family or friends.

Our Most Highly Recommended GPS Trackers for Your Travel Wallet

Among the numerous GPS trackers available, two highly-rated options stand out based on customer reviews. These trackers are favored by frequent international travelers for their accuracy and reliability while traveling:

  1. Apple AirTag: Rated Amazon’s Choice for highly-rated, well-priced GPS trackers, Apple’s AirTag is a small, coin-shaped device designed to help you keep track of your personal belongings using Apple’s “Find My” app. The AirTag is compatible with Apple products and Siri. It is water- and dust-resistant with a built-in speaker for receiving alerts and a replaceable lithium battery.

Amazon customers recommend the Apple AirTag for its user-friendly design, precise GPS location tracking, proximity alerts when locating their lost items, and battery life.
  2. Tile Slim: The Tile Slim GPS tracker is also rated Amazon’s Choice for highly-rated, well-priced GPS trackers. Slim is the size of a credit card, designed to slide into a travel wallet card slot or a small compartment. It can also be adhered to items such as a tablet or phone.

Slim connects to the free Tile app to locate your items. Slim is compatible with Android, Apple, Alexa, Google, and Siri. It is water resistant with a 250 ft. Bluetooth range and a 3-year battery-life guarantee

Amazon customers recommend the Tile Slim for its size, performance, discreet design, compatibility with any type of device and travel wallet, GPS accuracy, and ease of use

Please Note: I was not given any of these products for free in exchange for a review. The GPS trackers mentioned are suggested products that I have found to be both frequently used by travelers and highly rated on Amazon based on reviews.

Remember, the best GPS tracker for you depends on your individual travel needs. Make sure you thoroughly research GPS trackers before making a purchase and select the one that best suits you.

What to Look for When Buying a Travel Wallet to Use with a GPS Tracker

5 travel wallets of various styles on a tabletop

When selecting a travel wallet to use with a GPS-tracking device, it’s essential to consider features that enhance convenience, security, and organization. After all, your travel wallet not only needs to securely house your GPS tracker but also all of your most essential travel documents: U.S. passport, visas, identification cards, vaccine cards, credit cards, cash, boarding passes, and tickets. You may even need to store your keys.

Here are the key aspects to focus on when looking for a travel wallet for a GPS tracker:

Design:

  • Pay attention to size. Choose a travel wallet that fits all of your travel essentials: U.S. passport, visa, ID cards, credit cards, cash, etc. Opt for a compact wallet that doesn’t add too much bulk.
  • Ensure the travel wallet has enough storage space for all of your travel documents and cards—including a secure space or extra slot for the GPS tracker.
  • Look for a dedicated passport holder, pocket, or zippered compartment within the wallet to keep your U.S. passport safe, secure, and (preferably) hidden.

Material and Durability:

  • Choose a wallet made from durable materials like leather, synthetic fabrics, or waterproof materials.
  • Look for quality stitching—double stitching is ideal—and quality finishes, like strong zippers or clasps. These strong finishes will enhance the wallet’s performance and longevity.
  • Make sure the material is water-resistant or waterproof. You may encounter various weather conditions or accidental spills and sticky surfaces during your travels, so protection against moisture and the ability to easily clean the wallet is important.

GPS Tracker Compatibility:

  • The travel wallet should securely hold the GPS tracker. Make sure that the wallet has a designated pocket or slot for the tracker to fit snugly and securely into to prevent the GPS tracker from falling out.
  • Ensure you can easily insert and remove the tracker without compromising the wallet’s functionality. Some travel wallets have clear plastic windows that accommodate the GPS tracker and some have card slots—make sure that those designated areas are reinforced with strong stitching and durable material.

Organization Features:

  • Find a design that caters to organization: a cash pocket or compartment; multiple card slots for credit cards, IDs, and travel cards; and a secure compartment for your travel documents, boarding passes, tickets, passport book, and passport card. If you are planning to store all of your travel essentials in your wallet, you need to make sure that your travel essentials stay organized.

RFID Protection:

  • RFID-blocking technology has become a regular feature for quality travel wallets. A wallet with RFID-blocking technology safeguards your cards and passport from electronic theft.

Fit and Accessibility:

  • Assess how easily you can access your travel essentials. If the card slots are too tight or the zipper frequently gets caught, retrieving your IDs, passport, and cards becomes a tedious task. Additionally, such issues could potentially compromise the wallet’s durability and overall functionality with frequent use. While it’s essential to discourage thieves from accessing your personal items, you also need to make sure that you can retrieve your travel items effortlessly when needed.
  • Check that the travel wallet fits well in your travel bag or purse. If you have an interior compartment that seems ideal for a travel wallet, verify that the wallet’s dimensions are compatible.

Bveyzi’s Travel Document Organizer wallet open and filled with a passport, travel documents, credit cards, cash, and a GPS tracker

Bveyzi’s Travel Document Organizer is an ideal travel wallet for either a single traveler or a whole family of travelers to keep their travel documents in one safe place.

The Bveyzi Travel Document Organizer has a simple yet sophisticated design crafted from genuine leather.

Please be aware that Bveyzi’s Travel Document Organizer does not have a built-in GPS-tracker holder; even so, its multifunctional design has ample space to secure either a slim GPS-tracker card (the size and dimensions of the Tile Slim) or a small GPS-tracker (like the Apple AirTag).

Here’s What I Think

As soon as I opened the Bveyzi Travel Document Organizer, I was immediately impressed by its look and feel. It effortlessly combines style and functionality

First off, the size of this wallet is exactly what I’m looking for in a travel wallet. Whether I’m embarking on a solo adventure, traveling as a couple, or exploring with my family, the Bveyzi wallet accommodates all scenarios. It strikes that sweet spot—a mid-sized wallet that doesn’t sacrifice storage space.

The material is exceptionally soft, and you can tell it’s crafted from high-quality, genuine leather. I opted for the vibrant red color, and let me tell you, it’s a showstopper. Not only does it catch the eye, but it also adds a touch of elegance to my travel ensemble.

Now, let’s talk organization: the wallet’s layout is nothing short of exceptional. Each feature is purposefully designed for optimal storage and ease of use.

The multiple card slots, expandable pockets, zippered compartment, zippered closure, and wrist strap are designed with durability and maximum function in mind. While there are only 2 passport pockets, I managed to double up and store 4 passport books without creating bulk or straining the zipper. Plus, the six card slots and the zippered pouch are ideal for securely storing my chosen GPS tracker. No designated space? No problem!

I felt very confident using this travel wallet. While I wouldn’t rely on the wrist strap to carry it out in public, I did appreciate that extra security while I had the wallet out and open.

Overall, the Bveyzi Travel Document Organizer is by far my favorite travel wallet to use with a GPS tracker for traveling both by myself and with my family of four. It’s the perfect blend of style and functionality, and well worth the price for its value! I highly recommend it!

If you are looking for a good travel organizer for your documents, credit cards, and money, I highly recommend this wallet.” (Elena, USA)

Cons: The most notable negative reviews are about the size and length of the travel wallet. Dissatisfied customers found the wallet to be too big for their purses or travel needs.

  • Note: You can avoid wallet size issues like these by checking the size and dimensions before you purchase a product.

“I had to return due to the length, otherwise I would have kept it. It’s too long for my purse.” (Travel RN, USA)

2. PASCACOO Airtag Passport Holder & Wallet

PASCACOO AirTag Passport Holder Wallet open with cash, passport, cards, sim card, and more inside

PASCACOO is described as a small team of craftsmen with 10+ years of experience crafting high-quality wallets who strive for the highest standards.

The PASCACOO Airtag Passport Holder & Wallet is definitely tailor-made for solo travelers. Its compact size strikes the perfect balance between functionality and portability. Crafted from soft, high-quality material, it exudes an air of luxury, reminiscent of genuine leather. The wallet’s embossed design adds an elegant touch, making it a stylish accessory for your travels.

Practicality is the focus of this wallet. It effortlessly accommodates all your travel essentials. The layout is simple yet effective in allowing you to stay organized during your trips. Despite its compact form, the wallet boasts an impressive number of compartments, ensuring that everything has its place. I also appreciated being able to slip my cards and passport book in and out of the pockets and slots with ease

One standout feature is the inclusion of an AirTag holder. Ingeniously integrated, it doesn’t add bulk or compromise space within the wallet. It also includes pockets for SIM cards, plus a SIM card tool, which not only helps your get your sim card compartment open, but it proved helpful for getting your tiny SIM card back out of the wallet pockets!

However, there’s a minor caveat: the magnet closure may be less reliable when the wallet is filled to capacity. But overall, the PASCACOO AirTag Passport Holder & Wallet is an excellent travel companion. I really loved using this travel wallet and would absolutely trust the quality and design paired with a GPS tracker to keep my travel essentials safe while abroad.

“Perfect size, it securely holds my passport, credit cards, cash, and travel documents. Easy to remove items when needed. The magnetic clasp is strong. Beautiful color, and a soft leather feeling. Nice quality.” (Celeste, USA)

“Prior to today I would have given this 4 or 5 stars because it looks nice, it has sufficient pockets to store the passport/credit cards/cash, and it felt secure. Today, however, three months after purchase and less than two weeks of actual travel use, the magnetic clasp came loose.” (PW, USA)

3. Holifesy Valante Premium Family Travel Document Organizer

Holifesy Valante Premium Family Travel Document Organizer open showing passport, keys, pen, gps tracker, cards, and cash

Holifesy’s Valante Premium Family Travel Document Organizer is “designed by travelers for travelers.”

The Valante Premium Family Travel Document Organizer is an excellent travel wallet, lauded for its abundance of space and organization, providing travelers ample storage for all of their travel essentials in one convenient place.

Please note, the Valante Premium Family Travel Document Organizer does not have a built-in GPS-tracker holder; but its smart design has plenty of room to store a slim GPS-tracker card (the size and dimensions of the Tile Slim) or a small GPS-tracker (like the Apple AirTag).

Here’s What I Think

The Holifesy Valante Premium Family Travel Document Organizer is the ideal size for various travel scenarios—traveling with just my husband or sister, with my small family of four, and even when traveling solo. The convenience of having everything in one place is essential to keeping track of everything while abroad.

The storage capacity is remarkable. I managed to fit all our travel essentials—passports, credit and ID cards, vaccine cards, additional documents, and more—without it feeling overstuffed. The layout is intuitive, allowing quick access to whatever I needed.

While this wallet does not have a specific holder for a GPS tracker, the zippered compartment or one of the card slots are perfectly compatible with almost any GPS tracker of your choosing. I used the Tile Slim with this wallet and it fit perfectly in one of the card slots without any added bulk.

Including pockets for SIM cards and SD cards was a thoughtful bonus. I appreciated the slim pen and SIM card tool—small details that make a big difference. And let’s talk about durability—the hardware, keychain clasp, and zippered pouches are built to last!

Now, the material isn’t my favorite—it’s polyester, which isn’t the easiest to wipe down or keep clean. But given the overall quality, I felt confident wearing the wallet using the cross-body strap under my clothing for discretion and extra protection. The cross-body strap, despite some negative reviews, worked really well for me.

Overall, the Holifesy Valante Premium Family Travel Document Organizer is a winner. It is a great value for the price, and I’d trust it again for my family travels without hesitation.

Features: Holifesy’s Valante Premium Family Travel Document Organizer has quite a few extraordinary characteristics ideal for international travel: 6 passport book slots, 2 pockets for boarding passes and tickets, 2 large, zippered pockets for cash, 2 letter-size stash pockets for travel documents, 2 pen holders, 1 key hook, 1 memory card slot, 2 SIM card slots, and an external zippered pocket for your phone21 storage compartments in total. It features RFID-blocking technology to keep your travel essentials safe from electronic theft as well as plenty of space to either place a slim GPS-tracker card (like the Tile Slim) in a card slot or a GPS-tracker (like the Apple AirTag) inside one of the zippered compartments. It also comes with a removable crossbody strap so that the wallet can be worn.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Amazon customers are satisfied with the Valante Premium Family Travel Document Organizer’s size, pockets, organization, versatility, quality, appearance, ease of use, and value for the price

“I loved having this to keep all of my travel documents organized in one place. I was able to keep my money, passports, cruise tags, airport transfer tickets, and other miscellaneous items all together. It easily fit in my carry-on so I had all my documents with me. I slipped my ID and credit card in here as well so I could go without a purse.” (Amazon Customer, USA)

“Great product design for family travel. I like that I can have all passports in one for easy access. Extra slots for other cards and two pockets that can hold currency.” (Steph Marie, USA)

Cons: One dissatisfied customer found the pockets too loose to securely hold their travel documents in place.

“I liked that it had a crossbody strap and I wanted to keep it close to my body and have my hands free. When I got it, I was worried because the fabric tabs seemed flimsy and were not reinforced but I took a chance. I did not pack it with stuff as they did in their photos. I placed a keyring with 3 keys on the interior keyring holder, 5 passports and boarding passes, 3 credit cards and a driver’s license, and $100 cash into this product. That’s all. It hangs upside down when using the crossbody straps. If the zipper isn’t closed perfectly, stuff falls out.” (Beautyandthebeach, USA)

4. P TRAVEL DESIGN RFID Travel Passport Holder and Wallet

P TRAVEL DESIGN RFID Travel Passport Holder and Wallet open showing cards, keys, sd cards, gps tracker, and pen

P TRAVEL DESIGN’S RFID Travel Passport Holder and Wallet is a popular choice for its large capacity, allowing travelers to organize and carry all their travel essentials in one case

It is important to mention that the P TRAVEL DESIGN RFID Travel Passport Holder and Wallet does not have a built-in GPS-tracker holder; however, its design is perfect for a slim GPS-tracker card (the size and dimensions of the Tile Slim) or a small GPS-tracker (like the Apple AirTag).

Here’s What I Think

As a traveler who appreciates functionality and spaciousness, especially when traveling with a family of four, the P TRAVEL DESIGN RFID Travel Passport Holder and Wallet immediately caught my attention.

My first impression centered on the stitch quality, and unfortunately, it fell short. There were many loose threads that could easily snag and pull out the seams or get caught in the zippers—that lack of quality control was pretty disappointing to see.

The material also felt a tad cheap; however, I really love the wallet’s floral design—it adds a touch of femininity, making it stand out from its plain counterparts. I was also pleased to find that it’s wipeable, which is a relief during long travel.

When it comes to usability, the wallet didn’t disappoint. The organizational features are well thought out. Whether it’s passports, cards, or other travel documents, everything has its designated spot.

My only wish? Deeper pockets for passport books. An extra layer of security would have been reassuring. I worried that they might slip out when opening the wallet in public places. That said, the zippered compartments and closures held up well during travel and seemed really durable.

The wallet doesn’t have a designated space for a GPS tracker. However, I used the coin-shaped AirTag; it slipped seamlessly into one of the zippered compartments, and that worked like a charm.

The wallet comes with an adjustable, detachable cross-body strap and a separate wrist strap. However, I hesitated to rely on them entirely. Instead, I kept the wallet in a larger travel bag. The straps felt a bit too thin and flimsy for my liking.

In summary, the P TRAVEL DESIGN RFID Travel Passport Holder and Wallet served its purpose. It’s a good value for the price, but I’d love to see better quality in the stitching.

Features: P TRAVEL DESIGN’S RFID Travel Passport Holder has 4 slots for passport books, 1 brochure slot, 1 transparent ticket slot, 4 card slots, a phone holder, a zippered coin compartment, 1 transparent ID slot, 1 pocket for cash, 1 pocket for a map, 1 pen holder, and 1 key ring with 3 hooks on the interior. It includes RFID-blocking technology to keep your personal information safe and enough storage space to utilize a card slot for a slim GPS-tracker card (like the Tile Slim) or a GPS-tracker (like the Apple AirTag) inside the zippered compartment. It also comes with a removable crossbody strap so it can be worn.

Pros and Cons

Pros: Amazon customers recommend this travel wallet for its large size, weight, quality, appearance, performance, and organization features

“There are plenty of storage slots for credit cards, insurance cards, etc, and a separate pouch for cash as well as passports. The key chain ring is very handy and secured in the zippered pouch. I even fit my iPhone 13 Pro max on the outside pouch where it was easily accessible, although a little snug. If I could change 1 thing it would be the strap. I wish it were a little wider. But overall, everything was safe & secure and close to my body, and easy to access while traveling in the airport.” (J, USA)

“Bought this for an out-of-country vacation. I can’t say enough good things about this. There is space for passports, cards, boarding passes, etc. Lightweight and easy to carry makes it a winner for me. I would definitely buy it again.” (Amazon Customer, USA)

Cons: The negative reviews noted issues with the strap either breaking or too thin to wear comfortably

“It was great at 1st. On the 3rd day of use, the strap broke. Needs better-made straps.” (Yolanda, USA)

“The bag is made of very cheap material. The straps are not strong; I think I should not carry it around my shoulder when traveling in a crowded place as it has a chance to fall unnoticed.” (Subhajit, USA)

5. SIMPLY SOIRÉE AirTag Wallet

SIMPLY SOIRÉE AirTag Wallet open showing cash, passport, cards, and separate airtag holder

SIMPLY SOIRÉE’s AirTag Wallet stands out for its size and organization features that support a minimalist travel style while providing plenty of storage space for your travel essentials.

The SIMPLY SOIRÉE AirTag Wallet has a simple, practical design crafted out of durable premium vegan leather and features a built-in GPS tracker holder to keep your passport and personal travel items safe and secure.

Here’s What I Think

The SIMPLY SOIRÉE AirTag Wallet’s compact design is perfect for minimalist solo travelers. (Personally, that does not describe me or my travel style—I tend to bring everything short of the kitchen sink with me! However, I respect the traveler who can do without.)

That said, I like the material; it’s practical and wipeable, which is a relief during international travel. No need to fret about spills or stains; a quick wipe keeps it looking fresh!

The wallet’s AirTag slot is a nice touch. It seamlessly integrates without adding bulk or compromising interior storage space. Plus, the bonus Airtag holder is versatile—you can attach it to your luggage, bag, or keys for added security.

The interior’s layout is simple. I appreciated how easy it was to slip my passport book and travel cards in and out of their designated slots. Despite only having 3 card slots, I found them to be roomy enough that you can double up and store two cards in each slot. Practicality at its best! However, I do wish there was a dedicated pocket for cash or an additional pocket for money storage.

My greatest concern lies with the clasp used to keep the wallet closed. It’s quite small, and I wonder if it’ll withstand frequent use. I would have preferred a larger clasp or a zippered closure, but that’s just me!

All in all, the SIMPLY SOIRÉE AirTag Wallet is a good choice if you’re seeking a small travel wallet with a straightforward design. I may be the outlier with my review, but, considering the price, I’d weigh the pros and cons carefully before purchasing.
